The Company

Pretty Good Girl Dance Theatre is a leading small-scale, Somerset based dance company known for its innovative, narrative based choreography.

The driving philosophy behind the company's projects is that dance can tell stories - real stories and should be accessible to people of all ages and interests.

Education

Over the last 2 years the company have taught workshops and built youth performance pieces in no less that 65 education settings.

Each member of the company is a trained dancer and teacher - combining professional training and experience of mainstream performing arts education. The project offers youth and community groups a fantastic and challenging day of dance and performance in their own setting.

Louise Barrett

Louise Barrett (Artistic Director / Choreographer / Performer)

Louise trained at Bretton Hall and London Contemporary Dance School. Louise was Dance Coordinator for Prior Park College and Education Officer for Pegasus Theatre, Oxford. Louise founded Pretty Good Girl in 2003 and coninues to develop her work as a successful freelance artist alongside her Artistic Director role. Louise is currently an Associate Artist for Take Art, Somerset and leads the Youth Dance provision for both the Merlin Theatre and Bridgwater Arts Centre. Louise is the Dance Co-ordinator for the dynamic Primary Setting The MEAD, Hilperton.
