ELVIS STILL MY HEART
TOURING FROM MAY 2009

Over the last 2 years the company have taught workshops and built youth and performance pieces in no less that 80 education settings.
Each member of the company is a trained dancer and teacher - combining professional performance skill with an understanding of mainstream performing arts education.
Pretty Good Girl are currently offering their exciting SMALL STEPS residency:
Small Steps - A day of dance culminating in a performance by participants - tailor made for your setting including a short performance by the dancers.
What does Small Steps entail?
A whole day (or half a day) of dance means the young people involved would need to be off timetable.
The session would run from about 9:15 and finish at the end of the school day if necessary. If the setting would like to invite parents and friends to the short performance this could take place at 5 or 6pm - which would mean the students staying late that day.
All breaks and lunch times remain in keeping with the school timetable.
What happens in the workshop?
The dancers from the company share the teaching during the day - offering a whole range of styles from contemporary to street jazz, musical theatre, lift work and physical theatre.
The morning is usually a technique class followed by learning a short phrase and after morning break the session is focused upon choreography and learning how to develop movement material.
Who can take part?
Anyone! The company will talk you through any specific queries you may have. The company's wealth of experience means they are able to balance a session to nurture both skilled and non skilled dancers alike. All Dancers have fully enhanced CRB checks.
How many can take part?
Maximum 25 students - if you want more you could negotiate to have two workshop leaders in two spaces. So that would mean 50 students can get involved.
What space do you require?
A school hall, dinner hall or gymnasium is great - a big space!
